Character's Personality (One paragraph): Storm is, by necessity, a person very much in control of her feelings. Her emotional state will affect her ability, and if she is not in complete control of herself, if she lets her mind or feelings wander, it can reflect in the weather in her immediate area. A disturbed or upset mind will bring on a thunderstorm, a scared one will conjure up a blizzard. That isn't to say that she is completely emotionless. She is generally a very warm and welcoming person, though she may be a bit stand-offish to strangers upon a first meeting. Her life has led her to be suspicious of non-supernaturals, but here on the Island, she prefers to give people an opportunity to prove themselves. That being said, if someone crosses her, she is not a very forgiving type.
Three Positive Character Personality Traits: Compassionate, controlled, calm
Three Negative Character Personality Traits: Spiteful, waspish, guarded
Character's Bio: Ororo has lived an extremely varied life for her relatively few years. Born to an African priestess and an African-America journalist, she spent most of her early childhood living in Brooklyn. For the first five years of her life, nothing much happened aside from children teasing her about her white hair, something she inherited from her mother.

Her family was staying in Cairo while her father worked on a story when a suicide bomber flew into their apartment complex. Her father was killed instantly, but Ororo and her mother were trapped together under the rubble for three days. Though she was eventually rescued, her mother died, and ever since, Ororo has suffered from claustrophobia.

Following the death of her parents, Ororo had no one to take her in and became on of the local street rats. She was taken under the protection of Achmed El Gibar, a skilled thief who was getting too old to make his own scores. He taught the young street urchin everything he knew, and in turn, she stole anything he asked of her. It was during her apprenticeship that she pickpocketed a wheelchair-bound man who later turned out to be Charles Xavier.

Unfortunately, El Gibar was not long for this world, and after he died, she left Cairo. She fled into the African wilderness, and this is where her natural ability of weather manipulation flourished. Up until this point, she knew that she could do things others couldn't, but she kept her fledgling powers to herself for fear of exposure and exile. But out in the desert, she needed them to survive. If she couldn't summon a rainstorm, she had no water. Without clouds or a breeze, she would overheat. Thanks to it's empty landscape, she was able to whip up tornadoes and blizzards without worrying about damaging nearby civilizations or revealing herself. She had made her own small oasis in the desert; it was something close to heaven.

Then she was discovered. One day, while she was riding the wind storm she had summoned and two nomads found her. Rather than run away terrified, they dropped to their knees and declared her divine. She followed them back to their village, where the rest of the tribe implored her to stay as one of their own. It turned out that they had a legend in their tribe, of a line of mighty sorceresses, all with white hair and blue eyes. It had been many years since the tribe had seen such a witch, and they had thought the line had ended. But Ororo's presence had renewed their faith, and they worshipped her as their own patron goddess.

She stayed with the tribe many years, honing her abilities. The tribe she watched over was always spared the worst natural disasters, even as Ororo learned that balance was all when it came to manipulating the weather. She could not, for instance, create or destroy water, and so whatever rain she brought to her tribe would be stolen from another place. Likewise, whatever heat wave she kept from her land necessarily was pushed elsewhere. It was also during this time that she learned spellcraft and potioncraft from the villagers, a remnant of her childhood and always wanting to learn more in order to build her arsenal of knowledge to protect herself.

But Ororo's life was destined to be uprooted yet again. A man named Erik Lensherr found her little village and revealed himself to be a powerful witch as well, though he went by a different name. He told her that he had a Brotherhood, a group that fought for the right of their kind to live their life free of the harassment she had feared for so long. Though it pained her to leave her tribe behind, she knew that she could do greater good in the world at large if she went with Erik.

Oh, how wrong she was. The more she saw of the world, the more hate she saw directed towards her kind - and indeed, towards anything that was anything less than normal - the more jaded she became. Her power faltered, bringing more rain and fog and storms than she meant in her distress, and she realized that if she did not leave civilization, she would bring too many disasters upon it. Erik had told her of a land, of Renegade Island, where their kind would be safe and would live among others like them, and that is where she calls home now.
